Abstract:
In this talk, the usage of large scale computing and data infrastructures is discussed in terms of readiness to address near future scientific endeavours in particle physics and related disciplines. The presentation aims to provide the background to understand why the current landscape has developed as it is today. The major challenges faced by researchers and infrastructure providers to sustain scientific computing at the required excellence level will be discussed.
